The 2015 Annual Visit will be to the National Library of Scotland to see the Bartholomew Archive, the record of the Edinburgh-based firm of map engravers, printers and publishers John Bartholomew & Son Ltd. It is one of the most extensive cartographic archives available for research in a public institution and was donated to NLS between 1983 and 2013. The Archive includes the firm’s records, the original materials on which their maps were based, engraved copper plates and glass printing plates and publicity and advertising materials. There are only 15 places available: if you would like to attend, please contact the Secretary by 21 May 2015.
